Benjamin Miller is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on Composition/Rhetoric and digital research and pedagogy. He earned his PhD at The Graduate Center, CUNY, where his dissertation was a “distant reading” study of roughly 3,000 dissertations written between 2001 and 2010 in composition and rhetoric, exploring research- and discourse-communities through keywords. Prior to coming to Pitt, Ben was an Instructional Technology Fellow at Macaulay Honors College, CUNY, finding ways to improve teaching and learning through digital (and other) tools. Ben has taught writing at Hunter College, CUNY, and at Columbia University, where he earned an MFA in poetry. His first book of poems, Without Compass, was published by Four Way Books in 2014.
